Day 25
1)Early morning breakfast of plantains and egg (majado), granola homemade yogurt and fruit, also lovely Lemongrass tea
2) Long bus ride to rio guayacucu, Super humid and warm once we got there, and SO LOUD with jungle sounds

3) Walking through jungle trying so many fruits I didn’t know existed! Lots in the mangosteen family
4) Emphasis on seeds as business, v interesting bc the couple who owns the land is American
5) Delicious lunch: hortaliza veggies, nettles, breadfruit, beans, yummy sauces, cookies with cacao nibs
6) 2nd stop was Mashpi Shungo, a cacao farm. cacao-glirocidia and connections to my paper on shade trees and cocoa agroforestry
7) Tried cacao fruit! super delicious. also did some pruning with machetes
8) Ultimate bean to bar production, everything happens on site although the sell both locally and overseas
9) Tasting nibs, pulpa bar made with juice from cacao fruit, other flavors. all v delicious! interesting to compare with our experience at condor chocolates
10) long bus ride back was good for contemplating and watching out the window, and refreshing with the rain on my face
